My name is Sara Chatterjea and I have been working with children and families for over 25 years including almost 13 years as a licensed family child care provider. Big Kids Child Care is a culmination of my many years in the child care field observing and experiencing first-hand the support and outlets for play that children need in order to develop into well-adjusted, happy, and productive citizens and life-long learners. Guaranteed, you will meet no other professional in the child care field more passionate about children learning through play with a variety of hands-on experiences; being outdoors and experiencing nature; and providing all children with the supports they need to learn, grow, and feel good about themselves, than me! I choose this career because it is what I love and it is what I am passionate about….to enrich the lives of our future generation.

My life's motto is "What is meant to be will find a way" and over the years I've witnessed my child care program evolve and change to fit the needs of the community. I have been a member of the Fox Lake community for over 15 years and have three school-aged children (ages 9, 13, and 15) of my own. I've been blessed with the opportunity to be involved in lives of many children over the years through my business and a volunteer with Girl Scouts. I would like to list things that I do in my "down time", but anyone who knows me knows that I don't relax! I am always busy with my business, projects, or taking care of my children or home. Besides that, one thing I do enjoy is spending time with my children outdoors and camping.

I am a long-standing believer in education, professional investment, and involvement in our community. Read my credentials below to learn more about my background, interests, and affiliations:
